At Cuyamaca College, Sepulvado has led the development of a performance-driven wind program alongside a broader ecosystem of artistic programming. This work includes the rebuilding and growth of the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, the creation of the Cuyamaca College Band & Orchestra Festival, and the development of a weekly concert series presenting student, faculty, and guest artist performances. Together, these initiatives reflect an integrated approach to ensemble development, audience engagement, and institutional artistic identity.

Conducting Institute & Educator Development Programs
Professional training initiatives for conductor and music educators
As part of SDSMI's educator track, Sepulvado has helped create a Conducting Institute & Educator Development Programs which bring together conductors, educators, and performers for intensive training. Central to this initiative is a conducting symposium featuring internationally recognized clinicians and a United States Marine Bands in an environment that provides a level of access and artistic intensity rarely available outside major professional settings.
Past and current iterations of this work have been developed in partnership with organizations including Conn-Selmer and Yamaha, with future collaborations continuing to expand the scope and reach of these initiatives.

Emerging Initiatives
Network of musicians serving civic and community life
Unison is a developing initiative centered on the creation of a flexible, network-based community of musicians who bring music into civic and public life. Designed to mobilize quickly and perform at a high level, the network supports community events, civic gatherings, and causes aligned with core democratic values—contributing not as advocates or spokespeople, but as musicians.

The project reflects a belief that music can elevate public life, create shared experience, and strengthen connections across communities. By combining artistic standards with an open, participatory structure, Unison aims to build a sustainable model for musicians who want their work to engage meaningfully with the world around them.
